Quirks, Quills, & Qreativity – Adventures with an ND Goddess

Kathleen S. Zoll

Author | Artist | Sorceress (in her own mind)

We each live in a world of our own creation… Some of us just have dragons, demons, sorcerers and kings as part of that world. Neurodiversity does have its perks.

The fantasy author Christopher Stasheff wrote in his bio, “He tends to pre-script his life, but can’t understand why other people never get their lines right.” When I read that, I realized I’d found a kindred spirit, and knew I was meant to write fantasy.

I am an aspiring author actively seeking an agent. As a single woman, I extend the fantasy to writing romance. I love my day job and my side hustles, and I adore my god-babies. My friends are my family, and my family are my friends. I’m a neurodiverse goddess and I’ve embraced my inner weirdo.

If you’d like to stay up-to-date on my projects, please follow me on social media or subscribe to my mailing list.

Christmas Crazy

Hands shaking. Breathing short. Heart pounding. I start quietly snapping my fingers by my side, both hands, trying to calm the anxiety. All I’m doing is heading into my office, among the Christmas lights and wreaths and someone’s Alexa playing carols… It strikes me that this has always happened. Ever since I was a child,…

Focused Writing with a Squirrel and a Dog

I’m all over the place when writing. I alternate between being totally unable to focus on the task at hand, and marathon sessions where I don’t want to do anything other than lose myself in my manuscript. Out of curiosity, I decided to google methods to remain focused. Of course, every article I found started…

I’M EMMA WATSON?!?!

I just set myself off laughing… I was standing in my kitchen, alternating between washing dishes and making a cup of tea, while trying to decide if I was in the mood to write, paint, make candles, or do all three—or maybe do some yoga then rearrange the paintings on the dining room walls. Ah,…

Write Where You Are

I look at my Zoom writers’ group in the evening. Five sit at desks, two at their dining room tables. One settles comfortably on a chair with her Kindle. And I’m stretched out in a recliner, a cup of tea to one side, a bowl of fried rice to the other, my laptop on my…
